I found this to be an interesting and very well written article for all FredHeads and YP4Fred supporters. As my father informed me who he voted for in yesterday's Florida GOP Primary and knowing now that Rudy is out of the race today, this will be a very interesting day in '08 GOP politics. I suppose it is true...as many of you have emailed and discussed with me on the phone...I cannot just sit on the sidelines. I will be supporting one of these two very soon. Why Fredheads Can Embrace John McCain and Mitt Romney

Let’s face it: the majority of those who supported Fred Thompson did so because they sincerely believed that he was the only reliable conservative in the race. Few questioned his commitment to conservative principles. Not even his opponents, who picked on his speaking style and campaign schedule rather than his policy proposals, questioned his principles.
Upon Thompson’s withdrawal, Mitt Romney released the following statement: “Throughout this campaign, Fred Thompson brought a laudable focus to the challenges confronting our country and the solutions necessary to meet them. He stood for strong conservative ideas and believed strongly in the need to keep our conservative coalition together.”
Wow! One heck of an admission for a candidate whose campaign has centered on claiming the embodiment of Reaganite principles.

But Romney needs to understand that while ideology is paramount, Fredheads aren’t necessarily willing to sacrifice other crucial factors such as consistency, reliability and trustworthiness. This is where McCain comes in.

I don't see how you could possibly support John McCain after the way that he blatantly lied about Romney's position on Iraq. John McCain was desperate, and he started lying. So much for straight talk express, more like BS express.
Also, look at McCain on Amnesty. Do you really think he will adhere to conservative principles in this regard? I don't.
Get off of the BS express. I'm voting for Romney.
Evidence that Mitt Romney supports "private" timetable for Iraq withdrawal
From ABC News:

From Duncan Hunter on ABC News:
"Romney is absolutely wrong in recommending a secret timetable," Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., tells ABC News in a telephone interview while campaigning in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. "Secret timetables are bad because in the end they all become public and the enemy uses them to estimate the limit on America’s endurance."

First of all "Ebadger", you have no idea how pathetic Romney is so shut your mouth and get a clue;

McCain is just as bad and has grievous infringements on our rights with no remorse at all including a direct and continued attack on our sovereignty.
For these reasons I will vote against McCain but, if Romney wins I will participate in a grassroots effort that will have the numbers and loud voice to make the crashing of the senate phone system look small in comparison.
This is the only way to assure Romney's lack of principles and jello backbone will not disappear altogether. ( A "secret withdrawal" is clear evidence of his weak character. )
Perhaps we can convince Fred to change his mind.
